Bombardier Global series is one of the most recognized in the business aviation industry. They are renowned for their performance, long range, and luxurious comfort of their spacious cabins. With advanced technology and avionics, coupled with their fuel efficiency, these jets offer smooth, safe, and cost-effective travel.
The following describes the growth of the Global series since 2000.
Global Express:
Introduced at the turn of the 21st century, the Global Express was the first model in the Global series. It was designed for an intercontinental range of 5,800 nautical miles and high-speed cruising that offered non-stop flights between major cities including New York and Tokyo. The jet features a spacious cabin with luxury accommodations, advanced avionics, and a capability to fly at high altitudes and high speeds up to Mach 0.85, powered by two Rolls Royce BR710 engines.
Global 5000
In 2005, Bombardier launched the Global 5000 model. With a slightly smaller frame, this jet became the more cost-effective version of the Global Express. It still features an intercontinental range, but with a more compact design and reduced operational cost. This jet can travel 5,000 nautical miles, and although the jet is slightly shorter, its cabin still exudes luxury and comfort with passenger-focused features, powered by the same Rolls Royce engines as its predecessor.
Global 6000
The Global 6000 was introduced in 2012, enhancing the capabilities of the earlier models with an increased range of nearly 6,000 nautical miles, improved fuel efficiency, and next generation avionics. This model offers a more refined and spacious cabin with full standing room, boasting class and comfort. The 6000 features the same Rolls Royce BR710 engines seen on earlier models, keeping performance reliable.
Global 7000
Unveiled in 2016, the Global 7000 set a benchmark in the Global series with an increased range of 7,700 nautical miles, supported by two GE Passport engines and superior fuel economy. With the increase in range, it also introduced four distinct living areas within its cabin. These features include a king-sized bed, a dining area, and a shower. Advanced avionics and technology, custom lighting and enhanced sound insulation made this jet a leader in luxury.
Global 7500
The Global 7500 was officially launched in 2018. Instead of making any major changes, Bombardier renamed their Global 7000 to the 7500 after making upgrades to the cabin. The new, state-of-the-art interior features an intelligent cabin management system, a fully functional kitchen, private stateroom, and an ensuite bathroom.
Global 8000
In 2022, Bombardier announced the Global 8000 which is expected to hit the market this year in 2025. The 8000 is offering an unprecedented 8,000 nautical mile range in addition to the largest cabin in the Global series. Expected improvements include eco-friendly innovations, advanced passenger systems, and even more improved fuel efficiency with new-generation engines.
Each iteration of the Global series displays Bombardier’s tenacity to be at the forefront of the industry. The company is committed to providing unparalleled, long-range travel that is comfortable and efficient. They continue to provide innovative technology and performance, ensuring their customers are travelling in luxury. With the incoming Global 8000, Bombardier once again is redefining what is possible in private aviation.
